MAC Whirl Lipstick Review

I have been looking for MAC’s Whirl lipstick ever since I bought the lip liner a few months ago. However, I do prefer the lipsticks over the lip liners as I find them very drying on my lips.

I seScreen Shot 2016-07-03 at 12.26.58 PM.pnglected Whirl in the MAC store. On the first swatch it was exactly the colour I had been searching for. It is comparable to Velvet Teddy by MAC, but Whirl is more of a deep pink versus the traditional brown toned nude of Velvet Teddy. I saw it as the perfect nude to include to my collection. Whirl is a matte shade, and typically the matte shades from other brands dry out my lips, but the ones from MAC are some of my favorite lip shades. I personally think that matte shades look best on my skin tone because they suit my complexion and don’t attract attention to my oily skin.

When WhScreen Shot 2016-07-03 at 12.27.38 PM.pngirl is initially applied it can be a fairly neutral rose shade, but you can build it up to be a deep nude. The shade is a beautiful color that would compliment any neutral eye look, as well as being the perfect party nude shade complete with a Smokey eye. In contrast to most nudes Whirl is more vivid versus an everyday shade. I am the type of person who does not wear bold lipsticks, so this shade is perfect for me when I want a faintly bolder look.

If you are looking for a new lipstick to include to your lipstick collection then I would definitely suggest trying Whirl. It is a very unique shade and I think it looks nice on any skin tone.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Review

40001_4015.jpgFor the past few months, I have been wearing the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. The Liquid Lipstick has an applicator similar to a lip-gloss. The applicator is your standard lip-gloss applicator. The product is quite thick with an amazing pigment. I was very happy with the quality of the product. The lipstick has a matte finish that feels thick and dry on your lips, however it does not appear dry. I would suggest applying a chap stick underneath.

If you are searching for a long-lasting, matte, lipstick then I highlight suggest giving these a try. They legitimately do not come off!! I wore them out in the evening while eating and drinking, and they lasted all night. I should warn you that the lipstick is so hard to get off, so you need to be careful when you apply them because if you make a mistake it will be difficult to correct.

Kat Von D’s Lipstick is totally worth buying. I am very happy with the long-lasting quality, the pigmented color, and the matte-finish. I definitely recommend trying these lipsticks if your haven’t already!!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation Review

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation comes in a packaging that is extremely useful when traveling. It’s not too fancy, but the bottle is slim and easy to bring around. The cap does sometimes get dirty, and needs to be cleaned. I do like that this product has a pump to make it easy to apply. I usually use two pumps to cover my entirehd-foundation-37810-1.png face.

The foundation gives a great medium to full coverage depending on how much you apply. The product covers all blemishes and evens out any redness perfectly. I use the colour Pink Porcelain, which is perfect for my light pink skin tone. The foundation blends easily, and is weightless for a more natural finish. The foundation is matte and gives a natural glow in photos. The foundation last about 5-6 hours, and I would recommend using a good primer before applying it and a setting spray to set it.

Overall, I really love this product. It looks weightless and natural on the skin. It can be applied for an everyday natural look or an evening look. I would recommend this product for anyone looking to try a new foundation!

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight and Contour Review

I have recently been loving the Clinique Highlight and Contour Cubby Sticks. I received the contour stick as a gift, and decided to purchase the highlight stick to use with it. Firstly, I love the packaging. They are in a sleek tube that allow the product to be twisted up and down easily. The chubby sticks can be thrown in a makeup bag, and you don’t have to worry about them making a mess!! This product is oil-free, which is perfect for acne prone skin like mine. I also think the price is very reasonable for the amount of product that is provided, and the quality of the product.

I apply the highlight stick on top of my cheekbones,
down my nose, and on my cupids bow.  This highlighter is very subtle and looks extremely natural on the skin. It gives a very nice natural glow. The product is very creamy, which makes it very easy to blend.

I apply the contour stick to my forehead, cheekbones and jaw. The contour blends well, and can be made to look subtle or strong depending on if it’s a day or night look. I have a light skin tone, and I think the colour is perfect for me.

I would definitely recommend this product to beginners because it is extremely easy to use. If your looking for simple everyday highlight and contour sticks I recommend giving these a try!!

Nudestix Intense Matte Lip Cheek Pencil Review

I took a trip to Sephora recently to pick up the Nudestix Intense Matte Lip Cheek Pencils. I picked up the shade Belle because it is a neutral everyday colour that I think is flattering on my skin tone.

The Pencil comes in a sleek black tin that has a mirror perfect for applying product on the go. It is also extremely cute and I can totally see myself adding it as decoration on my vanity. The product itself comes in a pencil that you need to sharpen, which is a drawback for me as I prefer mechanical pencils but at least the pencil comes with its own sharpener in the tin.

When picking out colours I was debating between Kiss and Belle but decided on Belle as it is less pink and more of a neutral shade. I can totally see myself wearing this everyday because it adds some colour to the lips without being super noticeable.

The formula is matte but not drying to the lips which is amazing because most matte lip products really dry my lips out. It is long lasting which is awesome as reapplying lipstick is the most annoying thing ever.

I have not tried this pencil on my cheek because I am not a fan of cream blushes so I can not tell you how it lasts on the face.

I also decided to pick up the Blur Pencil from Nudestix, as it is supposed to act as a primer. I can’t comment that it makes the lipstick last longer, but it does help smooth out the lips which helps for a nicer application of the product as well as for the lipstick to not settle into fine lines.

Overall, I really do like the Nudestix Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencil and can see myself buying more. I think these products would make a great gift for anyone as they are foolproof because of their easy application and also are great themselves.
